Southbridge, Mass. -- After half an hour in the sealed chamber of the American Optical Company's testing room here, where he rode a bicycle to duplicate the efforts of a workman, while black carbon was sprayed into his mask protected face, this subject comes out, a mass of soot, but proves that the new respirator unit developed by the company offers 100 percent protection against that dreaded occupational disease, silicosis."
