NEW YORK: People are gathered near the Dakota, apartment building in New York, December 8th during a vigil on the first anniversary of the death of John Lennon. One participant holds a big portrait of Lennon, who lived at the Dakota and was shot to death near it. Despite hard rain, about 100 gathered by midmorning. When evening fell, and rain ceased, there were several hundred more gathered."
